CHILD AND ADOLESCENT COUNSELLING

Image

Child and Adolescent Counselling is targeted for children and adolescents who are not able to cope with their difficulties in life.

WHAT ARE THE ISSUES THAT CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS NEED TO SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP FOR?

Some of the common issues that arise during counseling include, but are not limited to:

  • Family breakdown
  • Step-family issues
  • Abuse issues, either between parents or towards them
  • Refusing to go to school
  • Bed wetting
  • Eating difficulties
  • Learning difficulties
  • Bullying
  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Behavioral issues

It can be quite difficult for parents to watch their children/adolescents struggle with their emotions and behaviour and yet be unsure of how to help them deal with their issues. Parents also find it difficult to acknowledge that their children/adolescents need help outside the family. However, untreated issues can lead to more serious mental illnesses in their adulthood.

HOW COUNSELLING CAN HELP

Our Team is trained to work with children and adolescents in:

  • Exploring the cause of their issues
  • Understanding parent and child/adolescent expectations
  • Learning how to stop the bad things from continuing
  • Creating a better home environment
  • Building respect and trust
  • Building better relationships
